Foundations and Partnerships

I am exploring foundations' involvement in partnerships. What works and what doesn't? What are the benefits and drawbacks? Where can we find good examples of successful partnerships?

I am doing this research with the support of the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust, and working with the Association of Charitable Foundations (ACF).

Foundations collaborate - with each other and with other sectors - in many ways. I'm particularly interested in more structured partnerships - work that could be described as 'shared endeavour'.

If you work for or are a trustee of an independent foundation, I hope you will complete the survey.

There are 19 questions and the survey should take about 20 minutes. You may prefer to look at the questions quickly before completing, but as far as I know, you can stop and return to it at a later time. It may help you to know that one questions asks you to describe, briefly, a successful partnership, (a few lines will do).

In the autumn I will be review responses and working with ACF to consider whether we can publish a general guide to partnerships - so your responses now will be of use to other foundations.

Thank you very much for your help.
