Airline Fees: To Tax or Not

 

The House Aviation Subcommittee on July 14 held a hearing on the impact that un-taxed airline fees have on the industry.

Many airlines now impose extra fees on top of their fares. Many of these fees are not subject to the 7.5% federal excise tax that funds the Aviation and Airways Trust Fund.
