Introduction

Welcome to the first part of your In2science mentor training. Please allow around 20-30 minutes of your time to complete this compulsory online pre-placement training module.

Mentor training is an important part of your In2science experience and will provide you with tools to:
  • Take initiative in online sessions with your mentee.
  • Keep track of what your mentee is learning.
  • Know what to do if your science or maths knowledge does not match with the classroom science/maths content, or with what your mentee wants to discuss.
  • Know what to do when you don't know what to do.
The aim of this online module is to act as a 'flipped lecture' where you have the opportunity to work through some key pieces of information in your own time so that we can have a more interactive and productive in-person and online training session.
