Disability Strategy: lived experience of disabled people in Essex
Fulfilling Potential
The Office for Disability Issues (ODI) is currently asking disabled people and their organisations throughout the UK to contribute directly to a new cross-government disability strategy.
The strategy aims to give renewed impetus to the Government’s commitment to disability equality. It sets out areas for discussion based on three key principles: realising aspirations, individual control and changing attitudes and behaviours. Information about each area is available in the ODI discussion paper, 'Fulfilling Potential' (on the ODI website).
ecdp is drawing together the lived experience of disabled people in Essex and beyond to ensure their voice is heard in the new disability strategy. To do this, we have formed two discussion groups and produced this online survey - based on the questions in the ODI discussion paper - to ensure everyone has the opportunity to contribute.
Please take 15 minutes to complete this survey and have your say on the issues affecting disabled people and how their everyday lives can be improved.
Please note: all answers are confidential and any information quoted will be anonymous.
If you require any further information or the survey in an alternative format, please contact ecdp's Lived Experience Officer: fsavage@ecdp.co.uk / 01245 214 023.
