Duluth Training Registration

1. Duluth Training Registration

Combating consent defenses in sexual assault cases can be very challenging, both for investigators as well as prosecutors. In order to effectively meet the challenge one must understand the unique dynamics involved in what is commonly referred to as a "he said, she said."

The case of People v. Kobe Bryant is one of the most widely recognized in this area and contained many of the common challenges and issues faced by law enforcement. An examination of this case, in conjunction with a presentation on investigative techniques, perpetrator research, and prosecution strategy will provide the audience with insight on how to successfully investigate and prosecute consent defense sexual assaults. Regional examples and expertise will be utilized to relate these tools and lessons learned at the local level.
