TRAVELERS' RESPONSE TO TRAFFIC INFORMATION: A STUDY ON CALGARY
1. INTRODUCTION
ABOUT THE RESEARCH
My name is Joydip Majumder and I am a graduate student at the University of Calgary. I am conducting a short survey for my Masters thesis where I would analyze the travelers’ responses regarding the provision of pre trip as well as en route information while travelling in the DEERFOOT TRAIL.
With the introduction of advanced communication technology, it is now possible for the travelers to access the traffic information regarding their travel before the start of their journey as well as during their journey. Therefore the travelers can make more informed decisions regarding planning their travel consulting the information provided to them via pre-trip or en-route information system. This research aims capture the impact of traffic information on the behavior of the travelers. It may take approximately 6-8 minutes to complete the survey.
