Dear friends & colleagues,

Each year, Case Western Reserve University honors the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. - the man, the holiday, and the legacy - with celebrations that include workshops, films, panel discussions and speakers.

In celebration of this year’s MLK Day, members of the CWRU student and staff community are invited to reflect on the application of Dr. King’s values and vision to contemporary social, political and economic issues. This year’s MLK Essay Contest is made possible by the generous support of a record number of stakeholders across the university including the President’s Advisory Council on Minorities, Office of Inclusion, Diversity & Equal Opportunity (OIDEO), Center for International Affairs, Baker-Nord Center for Humanities, Cleveland Hillel Foundation, Inter-fraternity Congress, PanHellenic Council, Housing & Residence Life, Undergraduate Student Government, Share the Vision, University Events, and Kelvin Smith Library. We honor and thank them for their support.

Please take a moment to complete the demographic survey preceding the submission page. Thank you for participating, and please encourage your fellow students, faculty and staff to join the university community in this commemorative exercise.

Happy MLK Week!
