1. Introduction to survey

The Child & Woman Abuse Studies Unit (CWASU), London Metropolitan University, UK, is compiling a summary of the knowledge base on coordinated responses to violence against women and girls (VAWG) on behalf of UN Women. The aim is to create an online compendium of practical resources for policy-makers and practitioners working on the issue in a range of diverse countries and contexts.

Coordinated responses are multi-sectoral interventions that may address one or more forms of VAWG. We are equally interested in responses that deal with a single form of VAWG (e.g. domestic violence, sexual assault, Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting) if they include other aspects of coordination (see examples below). Examples of coordinated responses include:

- A model of service provision where the roles of different sectors (e.g. police, health, education) are harmonised to respond to forms of VAWG
- A programme responding to VAWG (e.g. service for victims, public campaign, educational project) delivered by a range of collaborating partners/agencies
- A Task Force, network or forum bringing together stakeholders from different sectors working on VAWG

Please answer the following questions to ensure our survey is as global and as comprehensive as possible. The survey will guide you through the questions one at a time. In some cases you just have to tick an option, while in others we ask for your opinion. The length of time it will take to complete will depend on whether you are aware of any specific coordinated responses in your country/region and how much you have to say about them. Your responses to the survey may be used as examples in the final online resource we will be producing.

For further information, or to send us any documentation relating to the questions in the online survey, please contact Jo Lovett, Research Fellow at CWASU, at j.lovett@londonmet.ac.uk. Postal address is: CWASU, London Metropolitan University, Ladbroke House, 62-66 Highbury Grove, London N5 2AD, UK.

Thank you so much for your help.
