The purpose of this survey is to gather input from Chinese professionals,students working and studying in the UK regarding communication skills needs conducted by New Education. Your responses help New Education produce the accurate information and provide better training service in order to help Chinese professionals and students to have a better career path and personal life with effective communication skills and human relations in the UK in the dynamic international environment.

1. When I first meet people, I usually initiate or warm-up conversations with small talk.

2. I give people my full attention while they're talking to me.

3. I encourage other people to talk, and I ask questions to clarify information

4. I can notice the change of others’ mood when talking with others

5. I can detect when someone doesn’t understand what I am saying, I will stop to ask if they understand.

6. I make an effort to remember peoples’ names.

7. To end a conversation, I will use a closing statement instead of just leaving.(Such as it is very nice to talk to you today,thank you for your time, see you soon,take care,talk to you soon etc)

8. I give my honest and sincere appreciation immediately when I feel grateful to someone

9. I always smile at people first, and try to keep smiling during conversation.

10. I know how to control my emotion and don’t criticise and condemn immediately even if something goes wrong.

11. I am confident to present my ideas clearly and concisely so that others are receptive to my point of view

12. I treat people fairly and I also let others know how I want to be treated

13. I try to find colleagues’ interests, motivation and points of view before I ask for cooperation and commitment

14. I show respect for peoples’ ideas and feelings ,even when I disagree with them

15. I am open to negative feedback and disagreement, even be criticised

16. If I am wrong in my job, I admit it to my colleague.

18. I avoid making extreme comments and judgements about people (such as he is always late).
