CCEO Work Teams

1. Here's your chance to get involved in CCEO

CCEO is a member-driven organization so it's only natural that we turn to you, the members, to help carry out the work of the organization. In 2011, we've identified seven specific teams to provide the guidance and to handle the work. It's our hope to have short introductory meetings of the teams at the Winter Conference on Feb. 17-18 in Columbus for those who are planning to attend. Membership Support Team--Chair: Eileen Leuby, New Albany Chamber This task force will develop a master list of all chambers in Ohio. The team will initiate courtesy calls, emails and potentially visits when possible to recruit non-members to join CCEO. Prior to significant CCEO programs, this team will also reach out and extend information to non-members to encourage them to take advantage of these professional growth opportunities.

Newsletter Support Team--Chair: Marvin Jones, Chillicothe Ross Chamber Help lead CCEO’s communication efforts with your peers. We need a team of members to help ensure our monthly newsletter is both valuable and timely. The team will help with deciding on topics, feature stories and useful links and information to include each month. The commitment is an occasional conference call and any additional time thinking about the content and completing tasks that may be needed to support the effort. It will not necessarily include writing items for the newsletter.

Leadership Event Task Team--Co-Chairs: Steve Millard, Council of Smaller Enterprises (COSE); Jed Metzger, Lima/Allen County Chamber CCEO will once again hold a leadership event targeting chamber execs and their board leaders in the fall of 2011. Help develop the theme for the event, suggest the content, select keynote speakers and support the overall production of this key educational session. This group will likely meet by conference call about five times in the spring and summer and will be the arms and legs for producing the event in the fall.

Resources and Content--Co-Chairs: Jan Hills, Reynoldsburg Area Chamber; Doug Johnson, Twinsburg Chamber CCEO’s website is being redesigned and it’s time to dust off, update and add content that all of our members can look to for help in their day-to-day operations. Help us review the content, make revisions and find new stuff to share with your peers. While there will be some conference call meetings, most of the work here will be on your own helping to dig in and review and suggest content.

Winter 2012 Conference Committee—Co-Chairs: Katy Farber, Highland County Chamber; Jeff Griffin, Wooster Area Chamber The Winter Conference is typically CCEO’s big annual event. Be a part of planning the educational, networking and social aspects of this event. It’s an experience in and of itself! The committee typically meets in person a couple of times at the venue and conducts the rest of its work by conference call. The bulk of this work happens in the late summer and fall.

Social Media Support Team—Co-Chairs: Lorie Neal, Gallia County Chamber; Rose Dipietro, COSE CCEO has a Facebook and a LinkedIn account. We’d like to do more to create an active conversation among our members that can be a resource for all of us. For you social media lovers out there and those interested in learning more, this is a good way to share your talent and improve your skills at the same time. This group will talk monthly about its direction via conference call (or some cool online chat application!) and its members will be active caretakers of our social media sites. If you’re out there anyway, why not add us to the places you review, comment and participate in?

Facilitation Team –Co-Chairs: Debra Lynn-Schmitz, Medina Area Chamber; Charlotte Keim, Marietta Area Chamber CCEO gets regular requests from many of you for help. If you are an experienced chamber leader or functional expert, sign up to be profiled as a resource for others and to respond to requests for help as they come along. The time these facilitations take and the total commitment of effort varies based on the needs. They are always subject to your availability.
