1. Diversity at UC San Diego: Asian Americans in Higher Education

25% of survey complete.
This survey is part of a larger research project addressing issues of diversity in California’s public universities. Particularly, the study focuses on the role of Asian Americans shaping the discourse, issues, and policy of diversity at UC San Diego. With the recent racial events incited by the “Compton Cookout” during Winter Quarter 2010, an Asian Pacific Islander Forum was held on March 2, 2010 to discuss how the events impacted the community. This survey is an attempt to capture the views, experiences, and perceptions of the Asian American Community in how they responded to the events on campus. Often times, Asian American students are left out of research regarding diversity issues due to their perceived success, therefore it is paramount to examine the voices of Asian American students who currently represent nearly 50% of the student population at UC San Diego.
