Is Your School Applying for Academy Status: Vital Information Needed
More than 3,500 maintained primary, secondary and special schools across England rated 'outstanding' have been pre-approved for Academy status by the Secretary of State - and 626 of these schools have registered an interest in making such a change by completing an online form on the Department for Education website. A further 488 'non outstanding' schools have also registered an interest in switching to Academy status.
Although ATL has a database of the 3,500+ outstanding schools the Department for Education is not currently divulging the names of the schools who have completed their online expression of interest form.
It is imperative that we gather this information as soon as possible so that we can target our information and support to those who need it most.
If you believe your school has completed the online expression of interest form, please provide the schools details below.
Notwithstanding completion of the online expression of interest form, no school can become an Academy without passing a resolution at its Governing Body.
So the other vital piece of information we need are contact details for any ATL members who sit on your School's Governing Body. This is especially important information if your school is rated outstanding and/or has completed the online expression of interest form. But it is useful information from any school.
In line with data protection guidelines, any ATL member contacted will be able to opt-out of receiving any further information.
