Welcome to the STEM Academy Student Survey! STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. In the fall of the 2011-2012 school year, Downingtown Area School District is planning on opening a "magnet" high school with a curricular focus on STEM fields. Our goal is to foster student passion for STEM and provide educational opportunities beyond the normal Science, Math and Technology curriculums and the current high school model. Examples include: more advanced classes, Pre-Engineering classes, research and internship experiences, a more self-directed learning environment with individual access to many unique technological resources and a flexible schedule. If you have an interest in a STEM content area or STEM in general, and would consider attending a STEM Academy, your responses would greatly assist the planning committees. If you have any questions about the STEM Academy please visit the district home page and click on the "STEM Academy" link on the front page. Thank you very much, we appreciate your time!
