It is a critical time in the development of a federal highway and transit bill. Congress needs a clear picture of improvements that could be made through passage of a highway and transit bill that maintains federal funding at current levels – or opportunities that could be lost if a long-term bill with enough resources is not passed.
You can help the Chamber make a stronger case for a transportation bill by answering this very short survey about the improvements that could be made at a state/local/regional level with a long term reauthorization, the needs that will go unmet in the absence of a bill or if revenues are not found and a bill passes with cuts. We will follow up with some respondents to develop short case studies of projects highlighting the jobs, economic development and competitiveness impacts to use with the press and in our outreach and education efforts.
In addition, to ensure that the ATM Coalition is the broadest and deepest grassroots network, please help us update our list of local, regional or state transportation coalitions or organizations to which your chamber belongs.
Seeing is believing - help us showcase what improvements would be made in states and congressional districts with a long term highway and transit reauthorization and show what needs will go unmet in the absence of a bill or if revenues are not found and a bill passes with cuts.
This information will be compiled and added to our state profiles found on the Americans for Transportation Mobility Coalition website: http://www.fasterbettersafer.org/map.html#
