Cardiovascular disease is a big problem in Aroostook County. We have some of the highest rates of heart disease and stroke in the nation - this negatively impacts our quality of life, and places significant financial burden on our families and community. But the good news is together, we can do something about it!
The Healthy Hearts, Healthy Community Program is designed to help all of us identify our personal risks for heart disease and stroke, and make step by step changes in our daily lives, to decrease those risks, and begin to prevent and reverse the negative impacts of cardiovascular disease.
The Healthy Hearts Program is made possible through a generous grant provided by the AstraZeneca Healthcare Foundation. Together with many community partners,Cary Medical Center and The Aroostook Mental Health Center are working hard to help the community make changes necessary to improve our cardiovascular health, and stop heart disease and stroke in their tracks.
By taking this quick survey, YOU can help us to design resources that best fit your needs as a program participant, and help us measure the success of program efforts over time. You will also be entered into our monthly prize drawings if you provide us with your contact info!
