1. CIF Waste Recycling Strategy (WRS) Sessions
Waste Diversion Ontario (WDO) has identified recycling strategies/plans as a Best Practice and measures compliance through its annual Datacall. Municipalities without such a plan will have their annual funding from WDO reduced.
A waste recycling strategy (WRS) is used to plan how a municipal waste program will effectively and efficiently recycle its blue box materials into the future.
The Continuous Improvement Fund (CIF) is conducting a series of working sessions to deliver its WRS template and will also provide consulting assistance to aid municipalities in the development of their WRS.
Sessions have been scheduled for April, May and June (Huntsville, Kingston, Hockley Valley, Dryden, Barrie, Sudbury, Ottawa and London.
For those unable to attend in person, a WEBCAST of the Barrie session will be held June 16. (Details on how to participate in the webcast will be sent to you once you have registered.)
