Letter to citizens of Port Neches

Dear Port Neches Resident,

The YMCA of Southeast Texas and the City of Port Neches have been in negotiations about the possibility of opening a YMCA in the old Armory Building located at 511 Grigsby Avenue in Port Neches. Our YMCA is striving to serve more of Southeast Texas particularly the Mid County area. Our goal would be to have a fitness center, basketball court, aerobics room, meeting rooms, and locker rooms at this facility. Plans are in the very early stages.

Attached is a short survey to help our YMCA gauge interest in the potential of opening a YMCA. We need to make sure that the YMCA will have enough membership to support the operation of another YMCA in Southeast Texas. As a 501 (c) 3 non profit organization, our YMCA depends on private funding, membership dues, program fees and community support. Your feedback is very important to us; we hope to have many responses from your community as possible in order to assess the need for a YMCA in your community.

We appreciate your time and input in this matter and thank you in advance for helping the Y keep meeting their mission to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a health spirit, mind and body for all.
