Social Justice Priority Areas - 2012

The Social Justice team is in process of determining its priorities for 2012. Our team is making this process external this year because we want to make sure that we know the issues that the Chapel cares about and develop a process around the social justice allocation in the budget. Determining the chapel's priority areas would be the first step in that process.

For your reference, these are the previous priority areas.

Question Title

* 4. Do you think that funds from the social justice team should go to support an organization's general operations or a specific project? Support from the social justice team budget is limited to small grants. Many organizations appreciate general operating support because it is hard to find funders that are willing to support this. Project focused grants, especially seed capital for a project, may reduce an organization's dependence on the donor and may provide additional transparency into the use of funds. Please bear in mind that the congregation will be asked to put forward names of organizations to fund and projects, as applicable.
