YDIC Feasibility Input: General Community

Do you think a youth drop-in center is a good idea?

Did you know that between 3 to 7pm juvenile crime rates escalate? Youth are going to congregate somewhere, why not influence that by providing an easily accessible and healthy option?

The 2011-2012 DeKalb Chamber Leadership Academy is developing a needs study for a youth drop-in center. The key concept is to create a centralized location that would offer a variety of services to youth by partnering with the wonderful local resources that are available to youth in our community. A youth drop-in center has strong impact potential to help get kids off the street, improve their school success, empower them to make better decisions, develop assets and protective factors, and ultimately help them be as successful as they can be.

We need your help. The needs study includes this brief survey for you to provide input on such a facility.
