EFR202 Greening Your Guidelines: When, Where, Why, and How

 
The learning objectives for this session were:
1.Participants will evaluate the strengths and challenges of adding green practices to their local design guidelines, enabling them to know if their community needs to take this step, or can they handle their green issues with existing guidelines and review practices.
2. Participants will gain knowledge of best practices regarding greening guidelines from speakers that have been involved in the evolution of this process, in essence improving the product with each community.
3. Participants will leave with guidance on how to move forward in their community. This guidance will include various options that can be adapted to their community and guidelines.
4. Participants will be able to apply knowledge and skills of preservation standards to new green technology, gaining the confidence to apply the same thought process used to determine appropriateness to new types of green proposals.
