FCCNS Volunteer Resources Survey

We are looking for a one year commitment to assist with one of our three key activities – Chinese New Year, Dragon Boat and Moon Festival as well as support with some of our other functions. The responsibilities, when divided amongst many, are nominal – yet they make a significant difference to all. Please review the list below and highlight the areas in which you can assist.

Moon Festival: Research and book two entertainment acts.

Order mooncakes, pick up and deliver to event site.

Plan and purchase supplies for two crafts.

Purchase children's snacks and drinks and deliver to event site.

Purchase water and coffee and deliver to event site.

Purchase napkins, cups for snacks.

Put together Welcome Child video.

Purchase and wrap Welcome Child gifts.

Write event script.

Gather items for silent auction.

Contact and collect table fees from vendors.

Set up event e.g. tables, chairs, decorations.

Event registration/tickets.

Set up silent auction table along with bid sheets.

Supervise craft area.

Break down/clean up event.

4. Dragon Boat:

Dragon Boat: Team captain-recruit 21 paddlers and a drummer from our membership, schedule and attend practices and main contact during race day

Money person-to collect paddling fees from the 20 paddlers and give to treasurer to deposit

Beach co-ordinator-contact with Banook Canoe Club and monitor beach activities and clean up

Team t-shirt co-ordinator-recruit a sponsor, compile sizes of team members and order shirts from screen printer

Chinese School: Duties associated with snack-time (preparation, set-up and clean-up)
