1. Future of the Owensboro Armory

The Owensboro Armory on West Parrish Avenue at Moreland Park has been used for both military and community activities since 1949. In 2002 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A new readiness facility will be built near the airport, so the military will no longer need to use the Armory. Owensboro city government plans to buy the Armory and is considering a plan to demolish the building and replace it with a storm water detention basin. Preservation Alliance of Owensboro-Daviess County would like to know your opinions about this matter.
