Strategic Alliances--Join the Conversation!
1. Cultural Alliance of Southeastern Michigan
The Strategic Alliance Project is a collaboration between the Cultural Alliance and the Michigan Nonprofit Association funded by The Ford Foundation and The Kresge Foundation. It is a three-year initiative (2009-2011) with three phases.
To achieve sustainability, arts and culture organizations must find ways to consolidate infrastructure so that funding can be concentrated on their missions, not overhead. This is very difficult to accomplish, because most of these nonprofits are small, their work is unique, and developing such collaborations requires a great deal of thought, time, and expertise. The Strategic Alliances project helps member organizations explore and then develop partnerships which consolidate infrastructure, furthering their organizational missions.
Strategic Alliances are permanent operating partnerships rather than temporary, program-based collaborations. Strategic Alliances will take many forms and will grow out of the needs of the organizations. Participation is open to all CASM member organizations, regardless of size, discipline, or geography. Below, you'll find a list of ideas that are already being explored. They were more fully described in our December newsletter at http://xrl.in/4by6.
