Fair Housing Choice Community Survey
The City of Frederick’s Community Development Division of the Department of Planning is conducting an Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing. An important component of this study is to have the individuals and families of The City of Frederick and those with knowledge and interest of housing issues in Frederick complete the Fair Housing Choice Survey.
The purpose of this survey is to gain a more qualitative analysis in order to prepare The Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice. The knowledge, experiences, opinions and perceptions of housing stakeholders and other interested parties regarding fair housing in the City of Frederick is necessary to gauge stakeholders’ understanding of affirmatively furthering fair housing.
Definitions:
• Fair Housing – Equal and free access to housing choices regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, handicap or disability, familial status, national origin, sexual orientation, marital status, or ancestry. In addition, Frederick has included source of income as a protected class.
• Impediments to Fair Housing Choice – Any actions, omissions or decisions which have the effect of restricting housing choices for the groups defined above, through sale or rental of housing, the financing of housing or the provision of brokerage services.
