Welcome to the Nonprofit Shared Space and Services Survey sponsored by the Montana Community Foundation (MCF) and Montana Nonprofit Association (MNA). MCF has funded this project to explore the development of a shared space to be located in Helena, Montana, for the benefit of the local and statewide nonprofit community. We are also gauging interest in shared services generally in other Montana communities.

The potential outcomes of a Helena-based shared space include:
• Creating a high-profile nonprofit presence that showcases the nonprofit community in Montana’s capital city, the center of statewide public policy.
• Developing a space for nonprofits traveling to the capital city to work and convene
• Increasing the quality of nonprofit workspace and shared back office services for the local nonprofit community
• Coordinating philanthropic and other nonprofit infrastructure to improve the local nonprofit sector;
• Foster generative thinking and collaboration among nonprofit organizations for the benefit of the community and all Montanans.

Organizations that complete the survey will be entered into a drawing for a $150 contribution to the spendable portion of their endowment with MCF and a $75 credit toward an MNA training. If the winner's organization does not have an endowment, they will receive a $75 Amazon.com gift card.

The Nonprofit Centers Network (NCN), an organization that builds nonprofit capacity and collaboration through shared workspace and back office services, is administering this survey.

Instructions:

We invite anyone affiliated with a Montana nonprofit organization (including organizational leaders, board members, or volunteers) to complete this survey. However, we will be accepting only one survey per organization. Should we receive multiple surveys, we will ask your organization to consolidate into one submission. Data shared with MCF and MNA will not be shared with other organizations or individuals. Please complete surveys by COB on Tuesday, March 27th. Our goal is to offer summary results to respondents by May 15, 2015.

This self-explanatory survey will take 15-20 minutes to complete. You can leave the survey and return to complete it as often as you need as long as you have saved your information, but not submitted the survey. Simply click the “next” button at the bottom of the page to save your information. To return to the survey from the same computer you used initially - click the original e-mail link and then “next” on the survey introduction page. Once the survey has been submitted, your input cannot be changed.

Follow Up:

NCN will share the consolidated results of this survey with MCF and MNA and the affiliated planning committee members to inform the feasibility assessment process. MCF and MNA will provide a summary update of the feasibility planning process following its completion in June. Thank you in advance for participating in this project.
