Education Quality Survey

Background

1. My name is Dr. Jacqueline Zaleski Mackenzie. If you have located this survey, you are probably concerned about the education of children in or near your home or that of a relative. This is NOT a specific survey, it is a broad survey related to educational practices in the USA. This is a means to survey trends, not specifics. Asking about "your district" is only a means to make it easier for you to reply appropriately and for me to collect accurate data, not to make changes anywhere near where you live. I will not have any idea who you are or even the state in which you live.

I am doing educational research in Central Mexico because of my own experiences as a teacher in the USA. This approach was undertaken because after years of teaching Spanish speaking children with special educational needs I realized that the teaching methods for second language learners who were from Mexico were not effective. Only about half of the Latino children in USA public schools graduate from high school. I verified even more by spending four summers and two school years as a volunteer teacher in Central Mexico observing how children in Mexico learned both in schools and at home.

Educational technique changes need to occur for Spanish speakers and perhaps for other second language learners as well. I need your opinion from your own, your family, your friends or your children's experiences in order to justify suggestions for implementation to those with the authority to make changes.

All answers are totally anonymous.

Do you agree to help me find out what your experiences are with educational programs you have observed in the USA?
