Maps & Cartography - making maps, using maps, Mt Everest video & web pages
Constellations - using planetarium to recognize patterns, sky charts
Light - electromagnetic spectrum, different kinds of light, using filters, telescopes manipulating telescope images on computer with software, photoessay
Exo-planets - working with images & software, suing internet to request images, participating in search
Freedom Summer, Einstein's Big Idea
Weather - convection/conduction labs, forecast project, Storm chaser video
Apollo Missions & Spinoffs
Minerals & Rocks - testing, growing crystals, comparing rocks
fossils - types, index fossils
Dating - dating relative rock layers, radioactivity
Plate tectonics - earthquakes (figuring out magnitude & location), using data to identify plates and plate movement
Field trip - Museum of Science and Industry

1. The teacher was enthusiastic about teaching this course.

2. The teacher made students feel welcome in seeking help in/outside of class.

3. My interest in earth science and/or space has increased because of this course.

4. Students were encouraged to ask questions and were given meaningful answers.

5. Course materials were well understood and explained clearly by the teacher.
