Evaluation of Year 9 Financial Literacy Course - Parent Feedback

1. The Purpose of this Survey

Financial literacy can be defined as “the ability to make informed judgments and to take effective decisions regarding the use and management of money throughout your life course”. Research indicates that existing financial knowledge of both New Zealand secondary students (Morris, 2001) and New Zealand adults (Colmar Brunton, 2008) is relatively poor.

In 2009 Orewa College introduced a new compulsory Year 9 Financial Literacy course. The aim of this course of study is to improve students’ financial literacy to meet their current and future needs.

As part of the College's evaluation of this new course we ask that you, a parent of an Orewa College student, please take a few minutes to complete this survey

We welcome your feedback and appreciate your honesty.

1. Has your child completed the Year 9 Financial Literacy course?

2. What year did your child complete the Year 9 Financial Literacy course

3. Is your child currently enrolled in or planning to enrol in any of the following courses (You may tick more than one option)
