The Food Challenge Awards were established by Food Magazine in 2004 to recognise and reward best practice and innovation in food and beverage processing in Australia and New Zealand. Following a record-breaking number of entries in 2009, the Food Challenge Awards programme culminated in a hugely successful awards night where the big players and SMEs rubbed shoulders equally, eagerly awaiting the announcements and their time in the limelight. The 6th annual Food Challenge Awards will be held on Thursday 22 July 2010 at Doltone House overlooking Sydney Harbour so mark it in your diary. We now invite you to enter your product for 2010 to see if you’re up for the challenge!

Why nominate for an award?

 As a food or beverage processor, nominating your company and its product is an excellent way of recognising the efforts and hard work of your employees over the past year. Entry is free.

 Finalists and winners of the prestigious Food Challenge Awards receive free publicity in Food Magazine and online on our website throughout the year. This coverage is often picked up by the broader media and can be leveraged in your own marketing campaigns.

 Your company will be able to use the Food Challenge Awards logo in your advertising, trade show graphics, product literature etc.

 As an applicant, you join a prestigious group of leading manufacturers making their voice known in an increasingly competitive global market.

Eligibility Criteria

Any company, regardless of size, engaged in food and or drink processing in Australia or New Zealand. Companies in the Oceanic region are also welcome to enter.

You manufacture a food or beverage product that was/will be developed/launched in Australia or New Zealand (or Oceania) in 2009 or 2010.

Companies may enter up to two products. In 2010, you may enter only one product per category.
Each product entry must be on a separate form to be accepted.

Judging Criteria
Each entry will be judged on its own merits and upon the quality and quantity of detail you provide on:
Ingredients 15
Packaging 15
Food Safety 15
Processing 15
Export 10
Marketing 15
Sustainability measures 15
100 points

Together with your entry form, two images of the product in its packaging are required for judging and publishing purposes:
1 x high resolution jpg 300 dpi (400kb or more) – (used for print publishing)
1 x low resolution jpg up to 200kb – (used for online publishing)

DEADLINE TO ENTER THE AWARDS IS STRICTLY 1 MAY 2010

Food Magazine will retain all entries submitted. The awards are judged by experienced independent judges whose decisions are final. No correspondence will be entered into.
