FAMOBS - Frequency Agile Microwave Oven Bonding System

 

»FAMOBS« is a scientific project funded by the European commission within the 7th framework programme (FP7). The research is conducted in 8 countries for the benefits of SME associations.
In this project, a new microwave processing system has been developed to enable rapid bonding of thermosetting materials. Overall objective of the FAMOBS project is to provide a productivity gain for the benefit of small and medium-sized companies in Europe by using a unique tool for added value packaging and reliability analysis.
Advanced computational modelling techniques will be used to analyse curing of polymer materials. This enables the process to be optimised, resulting in an extremely rapid, energy efficient process that produces a high quality cure whilst minimising stresses.
