Green and Clean Nail Salon Survey

Green and Clean Nail Salon Survey

The Boston Public Health Commission’s Safe Nail Salon Project mission is to protect nail technicians and the public from exposures to dangerous chemicals and preventing infections contracted in nail salons. The purpose of this short survey is to discover what appeals to the average customer. Please only participate in this survey if you are a nail salon patron, and please share this link widely with your friends and colleagues! Also - You don't have to live in Boston to participate! :)

If you would like to learn more about the Safe Nail Salon Project, please visit our webpage at www.bphc.org/safenails to watch videos and learn health and safety tips. You can also contact Safe Nail Salon staff at 617-534-5965 or safenails@bphc.org. Thank you for your time and participation!
1. How often do you visit a nail salon?
2. If my salon improved their indoor air quality, I would get my nails done:
3. How likely are you to pay a little extra for nail salon services that use more sanitary products and procedures? (Examples: Properly disinfected foot spas and tools / pumice stones, flip flops, buffers and toe separators that have not been previously used on another person)
4. How likely are you to pay a little extra for nail salon services that use products that are less toxic to workers and customers (Examples: nail polishes that do not contain formaldehyde, toluene, and dibutyl phthalate)?
5. The 'Green and Clean' project by the Boston Public Health Commission is a program that will give positive recognition to nail salons that go above and beyond basic environmental, hygiene, and work place safety standards. It will outline a set of objective standards that nails salons can meet to earn points on a grading scale depending on how environmentally friendly and clean they are.

How likely are you to seek out the services of a nail salon that was certified as ‘Green & Clean’ by the Boston Public Health Commission?
