Dear Asian American colleague:

We are working on a book that will highlight the leadership contributions of Asian Americans in organizational settings. Most of our understanding of leadership comes from models developed in the United States which assume that leadership requires charisma and visibility. However, a significant amount of solid accomplishments in organizations are made possible by “quiet leaders” who achieve their goals by strong dedication to work. Should leadership be only about charisma or shining? We are interested in your views and experiences. The survey will only take about 15 minutes to complete. Your responses will be treated as anonymous and no specific names will be used in reporting survey data. Names of organizations also will not be used and results will be presented in aggregate form (i.e., private sector, public sector, etc.). Your responses will help us highlight the leadership contributions of Asian Americans. Please contact us (thatchen@gmu.edu) if you have any questions about this survey or learn more about our work on Asian American leadership. We will also be interested in your feedback.

Thank you.
