A BETTER BROADWAY
In an effort to upgrade and modernize the look of its public plazas on Broadway, the Fashion Center Business Improvement District (FCBID) has rolled out a new design prototype comprising 20 cast concrete furniture elements. The new stools, tables, benches, planters and umbrellas are on display now through April. Designed by renowned architect James Biber FAIA of Biber Architects and funded and managed by the FCBID, the project is intended to improve the functionality and appearance of the plazas and create a better public space for all New Yorkers to enjoy. If the design prototype is a success, the Fashion Center intends to install the new design on all five of its Broadway plazas, from 36th Street to 41st Street. Visit the plaza prototype, located on Broadway between 39th Street and 40th Street, and provide the Fashion Center with your feedback!
