Thank you for your interest in applying to present at the annual fall VAEYC conference. VAEYC strives to offer the highest quality professional development and educational opportunities for early childhood educators and practitioners to enhance their ongoing work. To maintain a high level of quality, we have a rigorous conference workshop selection process.

For 2012, in collaboration with Vermont Birth to Three, VAEYC is extending our conference and adding Saturday as a third day. The priority audience for this day will be home-based childcare providers, with several tracks dedicated to this unique type of childcare service. For our Saturday programming, we will accept and review proposals that address the specified content areas for Thursday/Friday, but also encourage presenters to consider the unique characteristics of home-based settings and integrate these into Saturday presentation proposals.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Please complete this online submission form by Sunday, April 22nd, 2012. Please note that after you submit your proposal online, the system will then redirect you to download, print (and sign) your DPD form. This must be mailed to the conference coordinator. RFP responses submitted without a DPD form will not be considered.

Proposals will be evaluated using selection criteria including, but not limited to:
• Developmental appropriateness
• Clear application to practice
• Inclusion of interactive learning activities
• Clarity
• Innovation
• Presenter credentials and experience
• Audience appeal/responsive to participants' needs and interests
• Relevance to identified conference topics
• Additionally, for professionals who have presented at VAEYC conferences in the past, we will review participant evaluations from those workshops.

AUDIO/VISUAL

The Davis Center at UVM has A/V technology built into each room. If you require an LCD projector and screen, these are provided and you need only bring your own laptop. If you need other A/V equipment, such as a DVD player or VCR, you may negotiate this with the conference coordinator if your proposal is accepted. VAEYC strongly prefers hands-on, interactive workshops and prioritizes those workshops that support active engagement. VAEYC will limit workshops that rely heavily on PowerPoint style presentations.

If you have additional questions, please contact Conference Coordinator James Woodard at RFP@vaeyc.org.

You will be notified mid-May as to whether or not your workshop proposal has been selected for presentation.
