These questions are for anyone with an interest in acute and crisis care – service users, mental health professionals, NHS managers, voluntary organisations, advocates, carers, commissioners, researchers and anyone else with knowledge and ideas to share.

1. What do people in mental health crisis need?

What do you think are the most important aspects or components of care? If you have been in a situation where your mental health deteriorated rapidly and you needed urgent help – or if you could see this coming – what did you most need?

2. What is good about existing acute and crisis services - what would you like to protect or have more of?

For instance, describe good care you have, a service you are proud to work in, or aspects of the service that work well or have been shown to be effective. Services include hospital wards, crisis teams, emergency departments (A&E), crisis lines and crisis houses.

3. What are the problems in acute and crisis care?

For example are you aware of problems in access and availability, ethnic and other inequalities, the use of coercion, safety, quality of life on wards, access to different therapies?

4. If services in your area are being reorganised, what impact is this having on acute and crisis care (if you know)?

5. What changes in acute and crisis care do you want this campaign to achieve? Please also give any examples of actual service improvements and (if you know) how they came about.
