Be recognized as one of the University of Minnesota's TOP SENIORS!

My name is Mary Abel and I am the Vice President of the Twin Cities chapter of Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society. Mortar Board is the premier national society recognizing college seniors for their exemplary scholarship, leadership and service. We are currently in the process of selecting new members for the 2013-2014 school year.

To be eligible, you must be of junior-class or senior-class standing, ranking in the top 35 percent of the class or have a GPA of at least a 3.0. New members are selected on the basis of achievement in scholarship, leadership, and service, and they serve as active members during their senior year. Following the application process, only select students, a maximum of 50 for the U of MN Twin Cities, will be invited to join this esteemed Society – an honor placing them among the most amazing college scholar-leaders in the U.S.

Since Mortar Board’s establishment in 1918, nearly a quarter-of-a-million members have held the honor of being initiated at 230 chartered chapters across the nation. Mortar Board members are not only recognized as the top scholars and leaders on their campuses but are presented with the unique opportunity to join a diverse group of students from vastly different disciplines and interests. Together, as seniors, we serve our University of Minnesota student body.

Our Society provides its members with opportunities for continued leadership development, promotes service to colleges and universities and encourages lifelong contributions to the global community. Additionally, Mortar Board offers numerous benefits to members including career networking, fellowships and awards.

The deadline for submission of the application is September 22, 2013, at midnight. If you are selected, your membership fees of $100 are payable prior to initiation. If the $100 would otherwise preclude you from participating please know that a limited number of scholarships are available.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions. You can also find out more about Mortar Board at www.mortarboard.org.

Good luck this semester and onward!
