1. MSAPC has drafted an initial action plan and is actively recruiting members for its subcommittees to implement the following activities:

The Data and Evaluation Committee is responsible for identifying the issues, retrieving baseline data, and evaluating the effectiveness of implemented strategies. This committee is tasked with ensuring that the activities of the coalition are data-driven and that an evidenced-based approach to the task of coordinating an effective response occurs.
The Data Committee will meet in April to engage in the following activities:
1. Prepare for Fall 1010 administration of the Alaska Healthy Kids Survey
2. Revise indicators for MSAPC logic model.
3. Establish a baseline to evaluate coalition effectiveness.

The Resource Development Committee is responsible for identifying and planning training in order to increase the “resources” of the coalition. This committee is responsible for recruitment, reviewing coalition membership and steering committee involvement, and the development of financial capital.
The Resource Development Committee will meet in April to identify activities/responsible parties/resources for the following Action Plan Strategies:
1. Develop a plan for youth engagement.
2. Build capacity for enhanced communication and interaction between youth and adults.

The Coordinated Community Response Committee is responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of the strategic community plan. This committee will ensure that all efforts of the coalition are implementing the seven strategies put forth by CADCA to affect community change.
The Coordinated Community Response will meet in April to identify activities/responsible parties/resources for the following action plan strategies:
1. Develop and advococy plan.

The Resource Development Committee and the Coordinated Community Response Committee will collaborate to develop coalition activities under the following Action Plan Strategies:
1. Expand opportunities for youth leadership and empower youth to participate in leadership roles
2. Increase the use of media to promote positive youth, business, and community recognition.
3. Implement a positive social marketing/public engagement campaign to change community attitudes, perceptions and responses to substance use.
