On 24 May, Network Rail closed negotiations on the Bands 1 -4 pay for 2011. The 'headline' offer was 2.5% distributed via the performance related pay system (as opposed to an 'across the board' payment of 5.2% for operational grades). After consulting with our members, on 2 June, the TSSA Area Council reps voted unanimously for a ballot for industrial action (subject to a decision to invite David Higgins to re-open talks). There will be two questions on the ballot, one relating to strike action and one related to action short of strike action. The reps will recommend that you vote 'yes' to both questions. We want to know your views on this decision and our overall approach.
