Learning Revolutionaries

 

The WEA is running the exciting Learning Revolutionaries project, recently funded by the Transformation Fund and part of the government’s new support for informal learning - the idea that there is enormous value in learning for its own sake, people learning and teaching each other in their own way, informally, which they set up for themselves, and not tied to targets and accreditation.

Learning Revolutionaries is a WEA project initially running until the end of March 2010, in which volunteers are being trained and supported by the WEA to help people set up learning circles - small informal learning groups.

WHERE CAN THEY MEET?
These new learning circles, and the wider movement to encorage informal learning, will only be successful if people can find suitable, affordable places to meet in. So, part of the WEA project is around enabling people to offer some free space, and possibly other resources, that learning circles can use.


AND THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN.....
Do you have any spaces (big rooms, small rooms, outdoor areas, part of your workshop or office, room above the pub, beach hut....)that you could make available, by arrangement with you, for a small group of people to get together in and enjoy learning and meeting each other?


EAPN England, who work with anti-poverty groups across England, is a partner in the project. We are seeking offers of FREE SPACE for learning circles to use. We're open to exploring all sorts of ideas and will welcome ideas from you. You may be happy to immediately offer space or would like to have a chat beforehand and ask us more about how it would work.
