Public Opinion on Prawer-Gill Annexation
 

The City of Northfield is considering a request by two landowners to have 450 acres of their land annexed to the city (the "Prawer-Gill Annexation"). The land is to the west of the city-currently part of Bridgewater Township-and includes major sections of both Heath and Rice Creeks. Rice Creek is Rice County’s only designated trout stream, and more generally, the area around the creeks is an important wildlife corridor. Currently, the land is agricultural, and likely future uses include the construction of a business park.
