Smart Grid 2010

 

United Power is looking at the possibility of upgrading some of our electric system to include technologies often referred to as “smart grid” improvements. These upgrades could allow you to:

- View your “real time” electric use

- Compare your electric use with your neighbors

- Control household appliances from a remote location via the internet or a phone connection

- Make pricing decisions, i.e. you could choose to turn off appliances or electronics when power cost is the highest

- Create an electric network in your home by linking information about your appliances and electronics, which would allow you to monitor your home’s electric use
