Purpose of Skills Recognition

Skills Recognition provides flexible pathways for individuals to qualify for an accreditation, taking into account previous learning and experience they have undertaken.

It should be understood by any potential applicant that by utilising the Skills Recognition option, they are still required to meet all of the competency requirements of the training program. It is not a process of shortcutting any requirements or compromising on the standards required to attain an award/accreditation.

The following questions are designed to help you identify whether you are eligible for Skills Recognition, the specific process that is best for you and what requirements you will need to undertake. Please note, this is a guide only for the purposes of indicating whether you would be eligible for some form of Skills Recognition. All potential applicants are advised to read the Skills Recognition - Information for Applicants and contact their State Branch or the National Office for individual advice.
