ATCHHSD Tobacco-Free Worksite Survey
INTRODUCTION
Tobacco use remains the number one preventable cause of death and disability in the U.S., in Texas and in Austin/Travis County. Austin/Travis County Health and Human Services Department, as the local public health agency and as a concerned employer of almost 500 employees, wants to do everything we can to help our employees improve their health so that they can live long and healthy lives. One of the most important things that we can do is to create and promote an environment that protects employees from secondhand smoke and supports our employees in their efforts to live a tobacco-free lifestyle. As part of that effort we are surveying our employees regarding their opinions and attitudes about a tobacco-free campus policy at the ATCHHSD.
