The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce is currently accepting nominations for the 2011 Stanley T. Olafson award.

The Stanley T. Olafson (STO) Award is one of the Chamber’s oldest and most prestigious awards, originally presented in 1933, and honors a member of the community who has contributed above and beyond his/her job requirements to the development of world trade in Southern California. Past recipients have shown to have contributed unselfishly to international trade causes for most of their lives. Emphasis is placed on the quality of involvement in trade associations, committee work and community programs that increase awareness of the positive impact world trade has on our local economy. Past recipients have included such luminaries as Rufus B. Von Kleinsmid, USC (1942); Walt Disney, Walt Disney Productions (1947); Jack Warner, Warner Bros. Studios (1955) Tom Bradley, Los Angeles City Mayor (1984) and Bob Kleist, Pacific Far East Lines (1962). To view more recipients visit www.worldtradeweek.com


The award will be presented at the 85th Annual World Trade Week Kickoff Breakfast, Friday, May 6.
