Consumer memory survey from Nexus GB - Win an iPod Touch!

1. Consumer memory survey from Nexus GB - Win an iPod Touch!

At Nexus we have lost count of the number of times we have been approached by prospective customers who have tried designing HD and SD/SDHC cards or USB sticks into their products, only to discover that what they really needed was a specialist solution. So we’ve decided to do some research to help us find out how big a problem this really is.

This survey should take no more than a couple of minutes to complete and every respondent will be entered into a draw to win an iPod Touch. We will also be sending everyone who completes the survey a free document that compares the advantages of OEM memory with consumer alternatives.

The iPod will be unbranded (no tacky Nexus logos or anything like that) and we will even have it engraved for you if you let us know what message you want to feature. It stores an impressive 1750 songs or 10 hours of video and is really easy to use. You can play games on it, surf the Internet via Wi-Fi or even use it as a pocket computer.

1. Have you ever used, or attempted to use, consumer style memory products in an industrial application? SD, SDHC or HD cards and USB sticks are examples of consumer style memory products.

2. If you have ever used consumer memory in an industrial application, has this ever resulted in problems due to any of the following?

3. Have you ever experienced counterfeiting of the consumer memory built into your devices, resulting in safety concerns or profitability problems?

4. Have you ever experienced problems with the low mated lifecycle of consumer memory products and their associated connectors, possibly resulting in high maintenance bills?

5. Have you had a problem sourcing the connector for the consumer memory product and have you had problems with the reliability of the connector?

6. In order to receive a free copy of our document on OEM versus industrial memory, and for us to notify you if you win the iPod, we will need you to enter your name, e-mail address and telephone number below. These will not be used for any other purpose:

7. Finally, If you don’t already receive it, would you like to subscribe to Nexus GB’s free, quarterly e-mail newsletter for electronics engineers? Please tick 'yes' or 'no' below.
