As our church continues the process of earning Green Sanctuary status from the Unitarian Universalist Association, the First Unitarian Church of Oakland Earth Justice Associates offer the following checklist of environmentally caring actions we can take in our daily lives. For everyone committed to respecting, protecting and loving our planet, we hope this list can have several uses:
* to learn what we each can do;
* to remind us to do everything we can;
* to self-assess and increase our everyday actions on behalf of the environment;
* to help enlist our entire church community in creating Green Sanctuary within and beyond our walls;
* to strengthen individual and group commitment to activities which benefit the earth; and
* to suggest ways of helping bring about institutional change in politics, government, the marketplace, etc.
Please take a few minutes to respond to this "Greening Our Lives" checklist.
