Introduction
In partnership with SHCP administration, faculty and staff and as role models for our children, parents and guardians are encouraged and expected to support our students and our school through volunteer efforts. The Parents Association’s role has expanded in recent years, providing a broader array of options from which to choose. Working as teams that cooperate and collaborate in a spirit of camaraderie, we promote a school-family partnership and organize and host a variety of social and fundraising events. These include the Freshman Parent Reception, Open House, parent-student evenings, Bruce Mahoney BBQ, Super Bowl of Cioppino Dinner-Dance, Faculty/Staff Appreciation and Spring Gala, the year’s biggest PA-sponsored fundraiser. In addition, we assist with grand SHCP traditions such as the Walkathon and Grad Night.
All parents and guardians of current SHCP students are automatically members of the SHCP PA. As such, you are invited to select the role you wish to play, from team leaders to helpers lending a hand from home. Whatever your desired level of participation, your involvement is a concrete way to model our motto, “Enter to Learn, Leave to Serve.” The 2012-2013 school year offers unlimited possibilities for strengthening our community through faith, fellowship, friendship and fun.
