The following study is designed to assess social media usage and personality. This study is being conducted by Dr. Kelly Campbell, Assistant Professor at the California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) and her honors student Robert Davila. This study has been approved by the Psychology Department Institutional Review Board subcommittee of the California State University, San Bernardino. A copy of the official Psychology IRB Committee stamp of approval should appear somewhere on this consent form.
In this study you will be asked to complete a survey asking about your personality, use of Facebook, and experiences of infidelity. The online survey should take 20-30 minutes to complete. All of your responses will be anonymous. At no time will your name be requested or recorded during your participation. Presentation of the results will be reported in a group format only. Your participation in this study is entirely voluntary. You are free to withdraw your participation at any time during the study without penalty. You are also free to remove data at any time. This study entails no risks beyond those routinely encountered in daily life, nor does it provide any direct benefits to individual participants. However, you may learn more about yourself and/or your couple relationship from participating in this study. If you experience discomfort or stress while completing this survey and would like to speak to a counselor, please contact the Psychological Counseling Center at California State University: (909) 537-5040 or the researcher for this study (contact information posted below). When you complete the survey, you may request information about the results of this study by emailing Dr. Kelly Campbell at Kelly@csusb.edu. If you are a CSUSB student, at your instructor's discretion, you may receive 2 units of extra credit.
