2010-2011 SUN Priorities Survey

After another successful Annual General Meeting (AGM)(April 2010), wherein our current Executive Committee was elected... SUN is pleased to announce that their membership continues to increase - and their efforts to 'unite' with seniors and other organizations across the province continues. We would ask for your assistance in defining our priorities for 2010-2011 as outlined in the survey herein. That a loan program be developed that allows seniors to complete necessary repairs, modifications, and replacements to their principal residence.

An increase in (long-term care) seniors housing units (relative to the need).

Cap senior housing rentals at 30% of annual income.

Implement a property tax deferment plan.

Increase Designated Assisted Living(DAL)accommodation units and that there be standards in place.

An increased focus on addressing transportation/access issues such as aging driver support and affordable alternative community transportation.
