With the advent of the RiskMAP program, FEMA has approached ASFPM for assistance in reviewing a series of Guidance and Standards documents that are currently in draft form. The Engineering & Mapping Standards Committee has been tasked with coordinating and communicating comments back to FEMA on behalf of ASFPM. As ASFPM members, we are asking for your assistance in completing this review.

The following is a list of elements to the Guidance and Standards documents that are now under development or revision. The Engineering & Mapping Standards Committee is seeking ASFPM members who would be willing to review and provide feedback to the committee on one or more of these documents as part of a team. Once the draft guidance document is available, we will provide that to you, along with a spreadsheet to coordinate responses. We expect that the typical turn around time for your review and response will be 5 – 10 days from receipt of the documents.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of the RiskMAP program and support the improvement to floodplain mapping and the increase in flood risk reduction for the country.
